This week started off with a very relaxing Monday spent in the sun at the River Torrens with Phoebe. We sat for a few hours writing up our essays and working on various uni things! After being scared off by the huge and very brave black swans, we headed back to urbanest and I spent the rest of the afternoon sat on the terrace working and catching the last of the sun. On Tuesday I had my usual 9am lecture and then headed to TAFE to get my nails done for $5! TAFE is where you train for all vocational courses and you can pay a very small fee to basically be their guinea pig. I had a lovely chat with the lady doing my nails, it was nice to get some city information from a local!

On Wednesday the sun decided to shine and bring in the first day of spring! The flip flops were out as Phoebe and I headed into uni to work outside in the quad area, soaking up the sun and looking completely mad to the Aussies, who were all sat in the shade. That afternoon we decided to leave uni slightly earlier than planned and take the tram to Glenelg to enjoy the beautiful sunshine. Tiz and I bought an Acai bowl to watch the sunset with (attempting to be healthy whilst the other girls bought ice creams!) and sat watching some very very mad people jumping in the sea. To say the sunset was beautiful would be an understatement! This was my first trip to Glenelg but it definitely wont be the last. The evening ended with takeaway tacos for the tram ride home.

The rest of the week was spent in uni, trying to get on top of the various essays and group projects I have deadlines for in the coming weeks and attending lectures. On Friday I had a job interview (I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go as I now only have 2 months left in Adelaide, making me the least wanted candidate for a job!). Despite this I thought it would be a good experience and interesting to see if Australian job interviews were any different. 3 hours later and the interview was finished! It was the most fun and interesting job interview I’ve ever had, and scarily, I was the oldest person there! On the way home I headed to the shops to treat myself to some chocolate as a reward for surviving my first overseas job interview and spent the rest of the evening with the girls.

Saturday was the Psychology Ball, for some reason university ball’s are held during the semester, rather than at the end of the year (I find this slightly weird, as I always think of the ball as an end of year celebration for surviving university and saying goodbye to friends before summer!). The ball was great fun and it was lovely to spend the evening with the other exchange girls on my course and getting all dressed up! The bar was open and there was a seemingly endless supply of canapes, which made for a great night! The night was spent dancing and trying to figure out what the name was to what can only be called the aussie version of the Macarena (The Nut Rock). It was clear none of us had worn heels for a while, as we left carrying our shoes and walked back home barefoot (luckily we didn’t have far to walk!).

Sunday was spent feeling a little worse for wear, nevertheless I dragged myself out of bed to watch the university accommodation football final against Unilodge and Urbanest, with Urbanest winning 7-1! After what may be the best BBQ so far (but still not amazing!) we headed back home for a chilled out afternoon and evening.

The Start of Spring!
