Week 5

Another week and back to lectures! Today I met JB, a friend of Tiz’s who is studying from Tahiti (how cool?!) Sadly, it was his last week in Adelaide and has heading back home after 2 years in Adelaide! The rest of the week consisted of studying in the sunshine, hiding in the library from the rain and eating far too much food…

ESN Thursdays meant $6 pizza at duke (£3.50!!) and cheaper (but awful) drinks! We danced under the covers in the beer garden to avoid the rain and Phoebe ended up winning the Twister  competition and a $100 drink gift card (so next Thursday is on her!).
Another Friday and another day off of lectures, nonetheless I took myself to the library to study for most of the day, catching up on the reading I had piling up! Tiz came round in the evening and we went out to JB’s leaving drinks, we chatted to lots of new faces. 2am arrived and somehow we ended up in the 24/7 pancake house for a light snack…

Feeling very full from the night before, Tiz and I made a healthy dinner and headed off to Operation Jeedara Fundraiser to see John Butler and other bands we had never heard of! It was really interesting to understand what the fundraiser was all about (you should all google the Great Australian Bight and see what one very big nasty oil company is planning to do!). On Sunday I was treated to a Dolphin Cruise in Port Adelaide with Tiz and her family. Despite only seeing one Dolphin for approximately .0005 of a second, we had a good time and enjoyed soaking up the sun on the way back to the port!

This weekend Phoebe’s family were visiting, so on Monday, myself, Phoebe, Molly and Dylan (Phoebe’s brother) took a trip to the South Australian Museum which is next to the University of Adelaide! Despite feeling really quite uncomfortable with all the taxidermy literally everywhere, it was interesting to read all about the history and see some amazing historical artefacts! Dinner was Vietnamese at Sit Lo, my first experience of Pho and Bao’s and it was delicious, even better that it is just a minute walk from urbanest! As it was Dylan’s last supper, we bought an amazing groupon for the 6 of us to have Movenpick ice cream and a drink for $49. Did we need ice cream? No. I eat it all? Yes. It was time to crawl into bed, enter my food coma and prepare for the start of another week of uni!
