So having been completley inundated with loads of fun things to do over Christmas i have now returned to Halifax and Dalhousie to start 2018.
Before i get into how i feel about that, i think it would be good to re-cap how amazing my Christmas was.
Whilst perhaps the safe option wold have been to return to London for the Christmas break, with it being exchange i thought why not just go to New York which is basically up the road from Nova Scotia. Boy was I not disappointed New York at Christmas is exactly like what they show in the movies (bright lights, delicious food, snow, LOTS OF SNOW and REALLY cold weather). It was perhaps the best christmas I’ve had in a long time. There is an endless amount of things to do and i was never bored, it was definitely the right way to unwind after Christmas exams!
I would definitely advocate travelling a lot on an exchange as without it I would probably be on a plane back home by now . Halifax definitely is NOT New York and with me being a Londoner, I do crave the dirt, pollution and hustle and bustle an actual city provides(I would liken Halifax to a small fish in an even smaller pond, it definitely is not a city even though everyone in Nova Scotia would suggest otherwise).
But Alas my Christmas voyage has ended and i have now returned to “sunny” Halifax to once again keep my head burrowed into an array of boring law books, with New York being but a distant dream. Comparing New York to here has made me crave london that bit more. Halifax is definitely at the moment not my favourite place to be an I yearn for Halifax to be like New York, a very distant memory. But oh well let me return to the 100+ pages i have to read for tomorrow (not the way i imagined spending my year abroad to say the least!!!!).
