“Time flies when you’re having fun” is a very true statement and explains why the last time I wrote a blog was 4 months ago… so I’ll provide a quick overview of this period in Sydney.
Regarding the course, the hardest bit to get used to was their marking criteria. It was only nearing the end that I thought I had really started to get the knack of it and luckily I still had some assignments left to showcase this. Phew. As the course went along I also found that there were a lot more practicals involving group work which meant that I made great friends whom I will definitely stay in contact with.

The set up of exams at The University of Sydney were excellent. For once I was not ridiculously stressing out. They include a 10 minute period of reading at the start of your exams where no pens or pencils are allowed to be used. This means that you get a moment to read and calm down so you can understand what the exam is asking of you. Why do we not do this in England?! As we all know nothing does beat the feeling when all of your exams are over, however I also started feeling slightly down because this signified the finishing line of my time in Sydney and on my semester abroad.
Alongside all of the studying, during my time in Sydney I was also very lucky to have my parent’s come and visit. Showing off your University and the city where you have been living feels pretty good.

Sydney as a city love to show off by putting on many different events and having weekly fireworks in Darling Harbour. You cannot get bored here. The event ‘Vivid Sydney’ was something else. Seeing the Opera House full of colour and the surrounding city and the University have patterns and films projected on to them just made Sydney seem even more impressive.
