After a 24 hour long flight, I’m back in the UK, and I’m already reflecting on what such a great experience i had.. and when i can next go back!

So the mid-break started with more travelling. My boyfriend came over from Southampton, and with him a fair few months supply of chocolate to keep me going until i was home. The travelling started at Sydney for a weekend, before going over to Auckland for 5 days where i was put up by my Uncle and experienced some great home food cooking again. Auckland was fantastic, there is so much green everywhere and to go along with the green pasture.. sheep. It was a fantastic experience, and i can’t wait to travel there again in the future.

The semester recommenced in the middle of April and the colder weather started to come with it.. which for aussies is a solid 25 degrees. Everyone suddenly brought out their coats and scarfs like it was -5.. and i was still in shorts. Its safe to say i never fully acclimatised to the Aussie weather.

I was then treated to a day trip by my coursemates where we explored Adelaide hills; we went to a local toy factory which has a massive rocking horse that you’re able to climb. The hills are fantastic for exploring and have lots of vineyards and small villages.

so it wasn’t half as stressful as Southampton’s exams normally are. However in   one of my exams i was greeted by a grasshopper bug with massive claws on top mid way through the exam… which i think pretty much sums up Australia with everything wa
nting to kill you.

After my final exam was a sad goodbye to my coursemates and most of my friends at Urbanest as i was due to leave a few days after. It was sad to say goodbye to everyone, but i hope to see most of them again in the future. Im gutted to have left Australia and i can’t believe how quick the 6 months went; i had such a great experience and have learnt so much academically and generally that i could have never learnt in Southampton.
