Stairs. Lots and lots of stairs. They’re putting a new lift in our building which means I’ve got to walk up and down six flights of stairs every day for six weeks. But apart from that it’s been a good month. There was a good storm in which I managed to get a picture of a fork of lightning (just):

I also went on a trip underground to see the CMS detector on CERN’s LHC. Since I work with data from the LHCb detector I’m obliged to say that we’re better than CMS, but it was still quite interesting.

Finally, I gave a presentation to one of the LHCb “working groups” this week. It was a bit nerve-racking, but still a good experience and an essential part of being a modern scientist.
