Maybe.

The experience itself may be pleasant or unpleasant. But the opportunity is pregnant with endless potential for growth. One may discover their love for something they didn’t know they had, they may meet their best friend. Or it may just end up being a lonely affair. But it is impossible to say what the consequence of this would be. One may look back at this with the fondness of having learnt something valuable, which couldn’t be expressed or understood any other way. This was certainly true in my experience. It took courage to move away from my comfort zone and step into the unknown. One that taught me to let go, learn and grow in ways I couldn’t have envisioned happening. I realise that whenever I have given life the opportunity, it has always defied my ideas of what’s possible and what isn’t.

If you are faced with this question, I believe you are ready to go on the journey you need, and whichever it may be, choosing to or choosing not to, you will be fine.
