Wow, so I’ve been in Nova Scotia (Canada) for two months now and I’ve finally managed to find the time to post after explaining to people:

-I’m from London, England not London, Ontario

-Southampton is in England but not in London

– Life hasn’t changed that much since Brexit

– There is more to the UK than just London

– and not everyone in England is an avid tea drinker.

– yes Stormzy is national treasure, but no we don’t all wear tracksuits

But I must say Dalhousie is actually amazing, its like an American Uni but with friendly people, everyone is really smiley over here and always willing to help. They did not lie when they said Canada was the most friendly place on earth. In fact the biggest culture shock for me so far was having to pick up my pace as someone 50 meters away would pause from what they’re doing to hold the door open for me. I would catch myself consistently pausing my music to say ‘thank you’ in my thick english accent which would usually lead me to the six explanations above (the accent is a real crowd pleaser).

Another culture shock for me has been crossing the road, usually in England its a constant battle between pedestrian and driver but over here, drivers are courteous enoughto give you right of way, ALL. THE. TIME.  which is more scary than nice for a young person like me from London, like why are you Canadians so nice!!

But Alas i must wrap up as I’m on my way to a cheerleader/frat party (I have no idea what a frat party is either)

P.s. I haven’t seen Drake……..YET
